Regular Season Round 6: Viterbo - Ferrara 46-36

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Viterbo (2-3) beat at home higher ranked Ferrara (3-2) 46-36 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Viterbo. Ferrara was better in third quarter 11-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Viterbo held Ferrara to an opponent 15.8 percent shooting from the field compared to 31.4 percent accuracy of the winners. Giulia Ciavarella (181-97) had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Adriana Cutrupi (188-96) chipped in 1 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Viterbo's coach Carlo Scaramuccia used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was point guard Rosa Cupido (173-92) with 8 points and 10 rebounds and American-Swedish forward Pernilla Hanson (181-90, college: Cal-Irvine, agency: Two Points) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Viterbo moved-up to eighth place in A2. Ferrara at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Viterbo will face Pordenone (#14) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Ferrara will play against Vicenza (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
