Regular Season Round 6: Albino - Costa Masnaga 34-77

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Albino (3-3) was outplayed at home by fourth ranked Costa Masnaga (5-1) 77-34 on Saturday. The game without a history. Costa Masnaga led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Albino to just 4 points in second quarter and to 13 points in first half. Costa Masnaga forced 20 Albino turnovers and outrebounded them 48-34 including 21 on the offensive glass. Guard Valentina Baldelli (170-89) scored 12 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Alessandra Visconti (187-87) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Four Costa Masnaga players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international center Elisa Silva (192-88, agency: LBM Management) with 2 points and 8 rebounds and forward Simona Devincenzi (174-92) scored 4 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Costa Masnaga moved-up to second place in A2. Albino at the other side dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Costa Masnaga will face Empoli (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
