Regular Season Round 8: Sleza Wroclaw - CCC Polkowice 83-58

Everything went according to plan when third ranked Sleza Wroclaw (6-2) outscored at home 6th ranked CCC Polkowice (4-4) 83-58 on Saturday. Sleza Wroclaw dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to CCC Polkowice's 22. They outrebounded CCC Polkowice 36-23 including a 25-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Sleza Wroclaw especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Marissa Kastanek (175-90, college: N.Carolina St.) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and the other American import point guard Sharnee Zoll-Norman (170-86, college: Virginia) who added 6 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Russia guard Valeriya Musina (183-87, college: Lee) responded with 23 points and American guard Brittany Boyd (175-93, college: California) scored 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. CCC Polkowice's coach Stefan Svitek gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Sleza Wroclaw have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with AZS AJP GW and AZS UMCS. CCC Polkowice lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. They share it with JAS FBG. Sleza Wroclaw is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Widzew (#12) in Lodz in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CCC Polkowice will play at home against Basket Gdynia (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
