Regular Season Round 7: Nantes - Landes 67-61

The game between second ranked Basket Landes (5-2) and eighth ranked Nantes Reze (3-4) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Basket Landes was defeated by Nantes Reze in a tough game in Nantes 61-67. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 67-61. Nantes Reze made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for German Margret Skuballa (186-87) who led her team to a victory scoring 26 points and 9 rebounds (made all of her nine free throws !!!). Canadian forward Katherine Plouffe (190-92, college: Marquette) helped adding 25 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side international Celine Dumerc (169-82, agency: Comsport) responded with 19 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and Julie Barennes (183-86) scored 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Basket Landes players scored in double figures. Nantes Reze moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Nice and Lyon. Basket Landes at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with Lattes Montp. and Flammes. Nantes Reze is looking forward to face Lyon (#7) on the road in the next round. Basket Landes will play against Nice (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
