Regular Season Round 7: Prinemanye - Vitebsk 63-73

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when seventh ranked Vitebsk (2-4) beat 6th ranked Prinemanye (2-6) in Grodno 73-63 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-63. Vitebsk dominated on the defensive end, holding Prinemanye to just 6 points in second quarter. They made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game, while Prinemanye only scored eight points from the stripe. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Ivan Aladko (192-95) who led the winners and scored 16 points. Power forward Anton Vashkevich (204-94) accounted for 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Four Vitebsk players scored in double figures. Guard Pavel Suvorov (185-95) came up with 23 points and 5 rebounds and forward Dmitriy Chumakov (203-93) added 11 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Prinemanye in the defeat. Vitebsk moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Impuls BGUIR. Prinemanye lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. Vitebsk will meet higher ranked BSEU-GrandPrint (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Prinemanye will have a break next round.
