Regular Season Round 7: Lecco - Milano Hikkaduwa 77-71

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both thirteenth ranked Lecco and 15th ranked Milano Urania had identical 2-4 record. This time Lecco used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Milano 77-71 on Sunday night. Lecco dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Milano Urania's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Milano Urania was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for power forward Gaetano Spera (210-93, college: St.Peter's, agency: Players Group) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Power forward Jacopo Balanzoni (203-93, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 9 points and 13 rebounds. Lecco's coach Massimo Meneguzzo allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side the former international power forward Andrea Paleari (202-81) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Simone Ferrarese (182-87) scored 20 points and 7 assists. Lecco (3-4) moved-up to eighth place in B, which they share with 6 other teams. Milano Urania lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with five games lost. Lecco will face Iseo (#16) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Milano Urania will play against Reggio Emilia and hope to win that game.
