There was a small surprise when fifteenth ranked Rosa II Radom (2-7) beat at home 12th ranked Astoria Bydg. (2-7) 93-85 on Sunday. Rosa II Radom looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Astoria Bydg. was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for forward Szymon Szymanski (205-96) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Maciej Bojanowski (200-96) contributed with 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Rosa II Radom's coach Karol Gutkowski used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Patryk Gospodarek (184-94, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 23 points and 4 assists and forward Filip Czyznielewski (198-91) added 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Astoria Bydg.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rosa II Radom moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Astoria Bydg. Rosa II Radom will face higher ranked Legia W-wa (#5) in Warszawa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
