Regular Season Round 14: Yamanashi QB - Denso Iris 54-80

Bottom-ranked Yamanashi QB (0-12) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 80-54 loss to fifth ranked Denso Iris (10-2) in Yamanashi on Sunday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Denso Iris. Yamanashi QB managed to win second period 14-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Denso Iris dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Yamanashi QB's 30. Denso Iris forced 22 Yamanashi QB turnovers and outrebounded them 52-36 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) had a double-double by scoring 30 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Rui Kato chipped in 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Guard Miki Huzii (165-87) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and forward Hitomi Konnai (170-86) scored 12 points. Yamanashi QB's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Denso Iris have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Chanson V-M and Fujitsu RW. Newly promoted Yamanashi QB still closes the standings with 12 games lost. They share the position with Niigata R. and Aishin AW. Denso Iris will meet Aishin Wings (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Yamanashi QB will play against Fujitsu RW in Kawasaki and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
