Regular Season Round 8: Betanzos - Innova Chef 79-69

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Innova Chef (2-4) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Betanzos (4-2) 79-69 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-69. Betanzos forced 19 Innova Chef turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including 32 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of Senegalese Abdou Thiam (-98) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds and guard Guillermo Pereiro (191-89) who added 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Guard Gabriel Roman (185-97) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Senegalese center Alioune Senghor (200-96) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Betanzos moved-up to fourth place in Group A-B, which they share with Ponferrada CDP. Loser Innova Chef keeps the tenth position with four games lost.
