Regular Season Round 6: Shanghai S. - Shenzhen L. 112-108

CBA top team - Shanghai Sharks (6-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked Leopards (3-3) 112-108. Shanghai Sharks made 27-of-34 charity shots (79.4 percent) during the game, while Leopards only scored seven points from the stripe. Strangely Leopards outrebounded Shanghai Sharks 48-36 including a 21-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Leopards were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) notched 37 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the effort and the former international guard XiaoYu Liu (191-89) supported him with 26 points. Even a double-double of 33 points (!!!) and 10 assists by American point guard Jeremy Pargo (188-86, college: Gonzaga) did not help to save the game for Leopards. Polish-Swedish power forward Maciej Lampe (211-85) added 13 points and 13 rebounds. Four Shanghai Sharks and five Leopards players scored in double figures. Leopards' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Shanghai Sharks have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record, which they share with Xinjiang FT. Leopards at the other side dropped to the eighth place with three games lost. They share the position with 6 other teams. Shanghai Sharks will play against Jilin Tigers (#14) in Changchun in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Leopards will play on the road against Fujian (#13) in Jinjiang and hope to get back on the winning track.
