Regular Season Round 7: Scandone AV - Grissin Bon RE 81-86

The biggest surprise of round 7 was guest Grissin Bon RE's (#2) road victory over Scandone AV (#3) 86-81 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Scandone AV. Scandone AV trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 28-21 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 81-86 at the end of the game. The former international Pietro Aradori (194-88) fired 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. International center Riccardo Cervi (214-91) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. American-FYR Macedonia point guard Marques Green (165-82, college: St.Bonaventure) produced 27 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and Ukrainian center Kyrylo Fesenko (216-86) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Scandone AV's coach Stefano Sacripanti rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Grissin Bon RE (6-1) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place behind leader EA7 Armani. Scandone AV at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with JuveCaserta. Grissin Bon RE are looking forward to face VL Pesaro (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Scandone AV will play against Banco di Srd (#6) in Sassari and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
