Regular Season Round 6: Fanola SML - Bologna 58-75

Rather predictable result in San Martino di L where top-ranked Bologna (6-0) defeated 5th ranked Fanola SML (3-3) 75-58 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Bologna. Fanola SML was better in second period 23-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bologna forced 21 Fanola SML turnovers. Power forward Chiara Cadoni (182-94) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Alessandra Tava (183-91) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Gloria Pettenon (175-91) with 18 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and point guard Elena Fietta (172-95) scored 14 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bologna maintains first position in A2 with 6-0 record. Newly promoted Fanola SML dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. Bologna will face league's second-placed Civitanova in Civitanova Marche in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Fanola SML will play on the road against Marghera (#3) in Venezia and hope to win that game.
