Regular Season Round 7: Korikouvot - PeU-Basket 85-68

Everything went according to plan in Kouvola where sixth ranked Korikouvot (4-2) beat 8th ranked PeU-Basket (3-5) 85-68 on Sunday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Korikouvot's pressure prevailed and they won that period 24-12 extending their advantage to 17 points. It was a great evening for guard Teemu Knihtinen (192-98) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Henri Kantonen (197-97) helped adding 13 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Korikouvot players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Tiel Daniels (200-92, college: Colorado St., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and guard Topias Kuukkanen (187-92) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Korikouvot moved-up to fifth place in Division. Loser PeU-Basket dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
