An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Milano. Leader Armani Milano faced 4th placed Banco di Srd. Host Armani Milano (7-0) defeated guests from Sassari (4-3) 86-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Banco di Srd. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-20. But Banco di Srd won second period 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Armani Milano made 21-of-25 charity shots (84.0 percent) during the game. Armani Milano outrebounded Banco di Srd 37-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatia swingman Krunoslav Simon (197-85) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. International swingman Alessandro Gentile (200-92) contributed with 13 points and 6 assists for the winners. Five Armani Milano players scored in double figures. American point guard Darius Johnson-Odom (187-89, college: Marquette, agency: BeoBasket) answered with 25 points and 4 assists and Lithuania center Tautvydas Lydeka (208-83) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Banco di Srd. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Armani Milano. Defending champion maintains first place with 7-0 record. Banco di Srd at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Umana VE and Betaland Cdo. Armani Milano will play against bottom-ranked Vanoli Cremona (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Banco di Srd will play against Scandone AV (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
