There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Basket Barcellona (4-2) beat at home 4th placed Valmontone (4-2) 71-60 on Sunday. Basket Barcellona made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for power forward Giacomo Sereni (202-84) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Dominican guard Yancarlos Jefferson Rodriguez (195-94) helped adding 20 points and 4 assists. At the losing side the former international power forward Luca Bisconti (206-82) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Francesco Guarino (182-79, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 14 points. Basket Barcellona moved-up to fifth place in B. Basket Barcellona will face Roma S.Azzurra (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Valmontone will play against Palestrina (#3) and hope to win that game.
