Regular Season Round 6: Bnei Hertzeliyya - Maccabi T-A 84-82

The most surprising game was the first loss of Maccabi T-A (5-1) in Hod Hasharon on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by sixth ranked Bnei Hasharon (3-3) 84-82. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Maccabi T-A. Maccabi T-A cut a 15-point halftime deficit to two at the end of the game. Bnei Hasharon looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for international forward Karam Mashour (198-91, college: Morehead St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Jeff Adrien (201-86, college: Connecticut) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Bnei Hasharon players scored in double figures. American swingman Sonny Weems (198-86, college: Arkansas) replied with 8 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and his fellow American import DJ Seeley (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) added 13 points in the effort for Maccabi T-A. Bnei Hasharon moved-up to third place, which they share with 5 other teams. Maccabi T-A at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Hapoel Holon. Bnei Hasharon is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Maccabi K/G (#12) in Kiryat Gat in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maccabi T-A will play at home against Hapoel Jerusalem (#6) and is hoping to win this game.
