Regular Season Round 7: MIA-RO Cantu - JuveCaserta 82-83

A very close game took place in Cantu between Juvecaserta and AV Cantu. Fifth ranked Juvecaserta (5-2) got a very close victory on the road over 11th ranked AV Cantu (2-5). Juvecaserta managed to escape with a 1-point win 83-82 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 30-23 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely AV Cantu outrebounded Juvecaserta 37-23 including 23 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for Dominican-American point guard Edgar Sosa (190-88, college: Louisville) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 assists. American forward Mitchell Watt (208-89, college: Buffalo) helped adding 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks. Juvecaserta's coach Sandro Dell Agnello used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American point guard Dominic Waters (185-86, college: Portland St., agency: Octagon Europe) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 assists and Croatia swingman Fran Pilepic (193-89) scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. Four AV Cantu players scored in double figures. Juvecaserta moved-up to third place, which they share with Scandone AV. AV Cantu lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Juvecaserta will meet at home Betaland Cdo (#7) in the next round. AV Cantu will play against Enel Brindisi (#9) and hope to secure a win.
