An interesting game for Real Madrid (6-1) which hosted in Madrid second-ranked CB Canarias (6-2). Third ranked Real Madrid had an easy win 86-59. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of CB Canarias. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Real Madrid led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Real Madrid outrebounded CB Canarias 40-20 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Slovenia point guard Luka Doncic (201-99) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Mexican power forward Gustavo Ayon (207-85, college: San Jose St.) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Real Madrid players scored in double figures. Forward Javier Beiran (200-87) replied with 7 points and 7 rebounds and Canadian-Dutch forward Aaron Doornekamp (201-85, agency: Interperformances) added 11 points in the effort for CB Canarias. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with FC Barcelona. CB Canarias at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. Real Madrid is looking forward to face Gran Canaria (#9) in Las Palmas in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CB Canarias will play at home against UCAM Murcia (#14) and is hoping to win this game.
