Regular Season Round 4: Kashan - Azad 55-65

Date: November 14, 2016
The game between Top Four teams took place in Kashan. 4th ranked host Kashan (2-2) lost to top-ranked Azad (3-0) 65-55. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 65-55. Azad forced 19 Kashan turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman J.P. Prince (203-87, college: Tennessee) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 steals and the other American import power forward Joseph Jones (206-86, college: Texas A&M) who added 13 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Serbian swingman Maksim Kovacevic (196-87, agency: SPORTlab Agency) responded with 13 points and 5 rebounds and the former international center Masoud Soleimani (207) scored 7 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Azad have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 3-0 record behind leader Petrochimi. Newly promoted Kashan dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with Tabriz. Azad are looking forward to face league's leader Petrochimi in Bandar Imam in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kashan will play on the road against Army (#7) in Tehran and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
