Regular Season Round 4: Shiraz a.s Pipe - Arak 65-89

Bottom-ranked Shiraz a.s Pipe (0-4) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to third ranked Arak (3-1) 89-65. The game was mostly controlled by Arak. Shiraz a.s Pipe was better in second period 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Arak dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Shiraz a.s Pipe's 32. It was a very good performance for American-Georgia forward Quinton Hosley (201-84, college: Fresno St.) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Daniel Williams (195-87, college: Lewis-Clark St.) contributed with 28 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Arak players scored in double figures. Point guard Shayan Pourkavehdehkordi (184-98) replied with 25 points and the former international Reza Ranjbar added 8 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Shiraz a.s Pipe. Arak have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 3-1 record behind leader Petrochimi, which they share with Naft Abadan. Newly promoted Shiraz a.s Pipe still closes the standings with four games lost. Arak's next round opponent will be Chemidor (#8) in Tehran where they are favorite. Shiraz a.s Pipe will play on the road against Tabriz and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
