Regular Season Round 4: Chemidor - Naft Abadan 70-76

Bottom-ranked Chemidor (0-3) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their third consecutive match to sixth ranked Naft Abadan (3-1) 76-70 on Monday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Chemidor won third quarter 19-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Naft Abadan won last quarter 20-16. They also forced 20 Chemidor turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Bosnian point guard Zlatko Jovanovic (181-84, agency: BeoExcell) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and Montenegrin Ivan Maras (207-86, agency: Alti Sport) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Lithuania power forward Povilas Cukinas (210-83) responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and the former international forward Amir Sedighi (203-93) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Four Chemidor players scored in double figures. Naft Abadan moved-up to third place, which they share with Arak. Loser Chemidor still closes the standings with three games lost. Naft Abadan will face Shahrdari Gorgan (#9) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Chemidor will play against Arak and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
