Regular Season Round 4: Petrochimi - Tabriz 74-61

Superleague top team - Petrochimi (4-0) managed to deliver another win on Monday. This time they beat fifth ranked Tabriz (2-2) in Bandar Imam 74-61. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tabriz. The game without a history. Petrochimi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Strangely Tabriz outrebounded Petrochimi 45-31 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. American point guard Gerald Robinson (185-89, college: Georgia) fired 17 points and 4 assists for the winners. The other American import swingman James White (201-82, college: Cincinnati, agency: Three Eye Sports) chipped in 13 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Five Petrochimi players scored in double figures. American forward Sean Williams (208-86, college: Boston Coll.) produced 17 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks and the former international point guard Erfan Nasajpour (177-84) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Petrochimi have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 4-0 record. Tabriz at the other side keeps the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with Kashan. Petrochimi will meet league's second-placed Azad in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tabriz will play against Shiraz a.s Pipe and hope to secure a win.
