Regular Season Round 7: Riga/Ridzene - Limbazi 75-94

Rather predictable result when third ranked Limbazi (6-2) smashed on the road bottom-ranked Riga/Ridzene (0-7) 94-75 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-75. Limbazi dominated on the defensive end, holding Riga/Ridzene to just 6 points in second quarter. They outrebounded Riga/Ridzene 41-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. Limbazi looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for forward Inguss Immers (194-93) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Point guard Armands Osins (190-91) helped adding 20 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Five Limbazi players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Karlis Ozolins (191-98) responded with 21 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Edgars Lacis (191-98) scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Riga/Ridzene's coach Aigars Brigmanis tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Limbazi moved-up to second place, which they share with Jelgava and Marupe. Riga/Ridzene lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with seven games lost. Limbazi will have a break next round. Riga/Ridzene will play on the road against Ventspils Augstskola (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
