Regular Season Round 9: Kongsberg - Asker Aliens 108-71

BLNO top team - Kongsberg (8-2) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Asker Aliens (5-6) 108-71. The game was mostly controlled by Kongsberg. Asker Aliens was better in second period 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kongsberg dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Asker Aliens' 30. Kongsberg forced 21 Asker Aliens turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Kongsberg looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Asker Aliens' players. Cuban-American guard Juan Ferrales (188-91, college: Barry) stepped up and scored 27 points, 8 assists and 6 steals for the winners and guard Oivind Lundestad (194-91, college: Point Loma) chipped in 24 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Kongsberg players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Espen Stien (186-86) with 22 points and DR Congolese power forward Djo Yele (203-82) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kongsberg maintains first place with 8-2 record. Loser Asker Aliens dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Kongsberg will face Ammerud Bskt (#7) in Oslo in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
