Regular Season Round 8: Jilin NE T. - Fujian S. 127-120

Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Fujian (3-5) lost to tenth ranked Jilin Tigers (5-3) in Changchun 120-127 on Friday. Jilin Tigers forced 26 Fujian turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Fujian was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Malcolm Thomas (206-88, college: San Diego St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 7 assists. The other American import swingman Jabari Brown (193-92, college: Missouri) contributed with 31 points for the winners. American forward J.J. Hickson (206-88, college: N.Carolina St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!), 27 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks and international Zhelin Wang (215-94) added 21 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Fujian. Five Jilin Tigers and four Fujian players scored in double figures. Jilin Tigers moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Fujian lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth position with five games lost. Jilin Tigers will face Sichuan BW (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Fujian will play against Liaoning Hunters in Yingkou and hope to win that game.
