Regular Season Round 10: Correcaminos - Garzas 83-89

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Garzas (5-5) beat bottom-ranked Correcaminos (2-9) in Ciudad Victoria 89-83 on Friday. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 31-19 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. American Wayne Chism (206-87, college: Tennessee) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Brody Manjarres supported him with 15 points and 8 assists. Even a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds by Canadian forward Grandy Glaze (204, college: Grand Canyon) did not help to save the game for Correcaminos. American Theron Laudermill (202-89, college: CS San Bernar.) added 18 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Five Garzas and four Correcaminos players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Garzas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Barreteros. Correcaminos lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Garzas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Correcaminos will play again against Garzas (#5) and hope to secure a win.
