Regular Season Round 12: Caen - GET Vosges 79-74

Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked GET Vosges (6-6) lost on the road to fourth ranked Caen (8-4) 79-74 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. GET Vosges trailed by 18 points after 3 quarters before a 26-13 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 74-79 at the end of the game. Caen dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to GET Vosges' 24. GET Vosges was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for center Moustapha Diarra (204-87, college: USF) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. American-Cape Verdean swingman B.J. Monteiro (196-90, college: Duquesne) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Caen players scored in double figures. Point guard Ulysse Adjagba (183-93) replied with 19 points and forward Masse Doumbe (203-87, college: Kaiser) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for GET Vosges. GET Vosges' coach Laurent Mathis let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Caen moved-up to third place, which they share with RAC Basket. Loser GET Vosges dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Caen will face league's leader Quimper UJAP on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. GET Vosges will play against UB Chartres (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
