Regular Season Round 15: Osaka Evessa - Shiga L-Stars 86-82

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Shiga L-Stars (3-13) were defeated on the road by third ranked Osaka Evessa (8-8) 86-82 on Friday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-11. But Shiga L-Stars won second period 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Osaka Evessa won last quarter 28-25. They made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St.) helped adding 19 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Narito Namizato (172-89) with 22 points and 5 assists and Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) scored 19 points. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Osaka Evessa. Despite that victory Osaka Evessa went down to fourth position due to points difference. Shiga L-Stars lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth place with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
