Regular Season Round 12: Chartres - Gries/Oberhoffen 82-62

No shocking result in a game when twelfth ranked UB Chartres (6-6) crushed at home 17th ranked Gries/Oberhoffen (3-9) 82-62 on Saturday. UB Chartres forced 22 Gries/Oberhoffen turnovers. Strangely Gries/Oberhoffen outrebounded UB Chartres 37-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Gries/Oberhoffen's players. It was a good game for swingman Kevin Bichard (195-86) who led his team to a victory with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Olivier Romain (180-88) contributed with 9 points and 10 assists for the winners. Four UB Chartres players scored in double figures. UB Chartres' coach Sebastien Lambert used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Gregg Thondique (201-87, college: Virginia Union, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds and Ahmed Doumbia (195-89) added 16 points in the effort for Gries/Oberhoffen. UB Chartres moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Gries/Oberhoffen keeps the seventeenth position with nine games lost. UB Chartres will face GET Vosges (#10) in Golbey in the next round. Gries/Oberhoffen will play at home against SAP Vaucluse (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
