Regular Season Round 7: Crema - Orvieto 54-57

A very close game took place in Crema between Orvieto and Team Crema. Seventh ranked Orvieto (4-2) got a very close victory on the road over 4th placed Team Crema (4-3). Orvieto managed to escape with a 3-point win 57-54 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 13 points after three quarters before their 26-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Orvieto made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game, while Team Crema only scored one point from the stripe. Orvieto forced 20 Team Crema turnovers. It was a great evening for Lithuanian power forward Gintare Mazionyte (188-91, college: Texas) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 19 rebounds. Guard Greta Brunelli (176-90) helped adding 17 points and 5 steals. At the losing side guard Norma Rizzi (170-93) responded with 13 points and 7 rebounds and forward Martina Picotti (184-90) scored 8 points and 11 rebounds. Orvieto moved-up to fifth place in A2. Loser Team Crema dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Orvieto will meet Alghero (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Team Crema will play against Costa Masnaga (#3) and hope to secure a win.
