Rather expected game in Aichi where Aisin AW (3-2) was rolled over by Tokyo Cinq R. (3-1) 96-68 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 20-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 96-68. Tokyo Cinq R. dominated on the defensive end, holding Aisin AW to just 6 points in second quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Aisin AW's 48. They outrebounded Aisin AW 45-28 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Brennan McElroy (201-91, college: Indianapolis, agency: Duran International) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. The other American import power forward Eric Anderson (204-93, college: New Haven, agency: Duran International) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Tokyo Cinq R. players scored in double figures. Tokyo Cinq R.'s coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Guard Fujita Shunsuke (187-93) produced 22 points and point guard Watanabe Takumi (181-89) added 13 points, 6 assists and 5 steals (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) respectively for the hosts. Tokyo Cinq R.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tokyo Tokyo Big Blue.
