Regular Season Round 9: Alcobendas - Villarrobledo 74-69

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Alcobendas (6-3) defeated at home 10th ranked Villarrobledo (4-5) 74-69 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Villarrobledo was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Villarrobledo was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was guard Guillermo Ruiz (185-95, college: Newberry) who scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Alejandro Fortes (201-90) chipped in 14 points and 4 blocks. At the other side the best for losing team was Senegalese forward Bruno Diatta (208-96) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and Adrian Camino (189-95) added 12 points respectively. Four Villarrobledo players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Alcobendas moved-up to fourth place in Group B, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Villarrobledo keeps the tenth position with five games lost. Alcobendas will face Casvi (#5) in Villaviciosa in the next round. Villarrobledo will play at home against La Roda (#3) and hope to win that game.
