Regular Season Round 9: Santfeliuenc - Mataro 83-61

Date: November 19, 2016
Everything went according to plan in Sant Feliu where ninth ranked Santfeliuenc (4-4) outleveled 14th ranked Mataro (2-6) 83-61 on Saturday. The game without a history. Santfeliuenc led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Strangely Mataro outrebounded Santfeliuenc 36-23 including a 13-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Lluis Molina (190-85) who scored 24 points. Forward Alberto Farfan (193-91) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was center Marc Coll (203-90) who recorded 8 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Frederic Guallar (208-95) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Santfeliuenc moved-up to eighth place in Group C-A, which they share with Barna. Mataro lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. Santfeliuenc will face Sant Nicolau (#13) in Sabadell in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Mataro will play at home against Salt and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
