Regular Season Round 16: Kagoshima - Ehime OV 65-67

Sixth-ranked Kagoshima (1-14) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Orange Vikings (6-9) in Renova on Saturday. The visitors from Matsuyama managed to secure only two-point victory 67-65. However their fans expected easier game. Kagoshima was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Orange Vikings forced 20 Kagoshima turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Toshino Tatsuhiko (185-88) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Lawrence Blackledge (206-86, college: Marquette, agency: Interperformances) who added 15 points during the contest. Blackledge is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side forward Ryuichiro Nakazono (190-78) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and guard Hiroshi Fujita (190-92) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Orange Vikings moved-up to third place, which they share with Tokyo Z. Kagoshima lost twelfth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 14 games lost. Orange Vikings will have a break next round. Kagoshima will play again at home against Orange Vikings (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
