Regular Season Round 15: Kyoto Hannar. - SeaHorses 69-78

Very expected game when 5th ranked Kyoto Hannar. (6-9) was defeated at home by first ranked Aishin Sea Horses (11-4) 78-69 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-16. But Kyoto Hannar. won second period 15-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for the former international swingman Makoto Hiejima (190-90) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The former international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) helped adding 26 points. The best for the losing side was American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-89, college: St.Mary's, TX) with 10 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import Marcus Dove (206-85, college: Oklahoma St.) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Aishin Sea Horses have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-4 record. Loser Kyoto Hannar. dropped to the fourth position with nine games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will have a break next round. Kyoto Hannar. will play again at home against the league's leader Aishin Sea Horses (#1) and hope to win that game.
