Regular Season Round 16: Shimane SM - Hiroshima D. 74-51

Round 16 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Dragonflies (12-3). They were crushed by third ranked Shimane Magic (10-5) 74-51 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Dragonflies. The game was mostly controlled by Shimane Magic. Dragonflies managed to win second period 13-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Dragonflies 47-29 including 32 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 22 rebounds and guard Jun Abe (177-86) who added 14 points during the contest. Four Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. Shimane Magic's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Australian-Trinidad and Tobago guard Daniel Dillon (193-86, college: Arizona) responded with 15 points and American forward Connor Lammert (206-94, college: Texas) scored 3 points and 9 rebounds. Shimane Magic maintains third position with 10-5 record having just three points less than leader Kumamoto V. Dragonflies at the other side still keep top place with three games lost. They share the position with Gunma. They were replaced at the leadership position by Kumamoto V.. Dragonflies will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Shimane Magic will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Dragonflies in Hiroshima.
