Regular Season Round 16: Cyberdyne IR - Aomori Watts 63-93

There was a minor upset in Tsukuba where much higher ranked Cyberdyne IR (9-7) was crushed by fifth ranked Aomori Watts (7-9) 93-63 on Saturday. The game without a history. Aomori Watts led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Aomori Watts made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Kyle Barone (208-89, college: Idaho) who helped to win the game recording 28 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and the other American import forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) who added 11 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Rick Rickert (211-83, college: Minnesota) responded with 10 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Seiji Kouno (172-89) scored 11 points. Five Aomori Watts and four Cyberdyne IR players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aomori Watts maintains fifth position with 7-9 record. Loser Cyberdyne IR dropped to the third place with seven games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
