Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Castellammare and 10th ranked Palermo had identical 1-4 record. But Palermo was not able to use a home court advantage and was outplayed by the opponent from Stabia 67-44 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Castellammare led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Palermo to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 44.6 percent accuracy of the winners. American-Irish forward Fiona O'Dwyer (178-99, college: Emmanuel, MA) fired 26 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Raffaella Potolicchio (169-90) chipped in 12 points. Guard Federica Monaco (165-93) produced 11 points and forward Marta Verona (178-94) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Castellammare (2-4) moved-up to tenth place in A2. Loser Palermo dropped to the thirteenth position with five games lost. Castellammare will face higher ranked Ferrara (#5) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Palermo will play against the league's leader Bologna (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
