Everything went according to plan in San Cristobal where third ranked C.Adelantados (5-2) outleveled 5th ranked ASEFA Estudiantes (4-4) 79-48 on Saturday. The game without a history. C.Adelantados led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was point guard Gema Garcia (165-85) who scored 16 points, 6 assists and 6 steals. Power forward Veronica Matoso (185-88) chipped in 6 points and 10 rebounds. Center Mariana Gonzalez (187-88) produced 19 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Alejandra Quirante (167-92) added 7 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. C.Adelantados maintains third position in Group B with 5-2 record having just two points less than leader Aros Leon, which they share with Alcobendas. Loser ASEFA Estudiantes dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. C.Adelantados will face Adareva (#9) in SC Laguna in the next round where they are favorite. ASEFA Estudiantes will play at home against Valencia and hope to win that game.
