Regular Season Round 16: Fukushima - Iwate Big Bulls 86-63

Date: November 19, 2016
Rather predictable result when third ranked Fukushima (9-6) smashed at home 6th ranked Iwate Big Bulls (2-13) 86-63 on Saturday. The game without a history. Fukushima led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Iwate Big Bulls to just 7 points in first quarter. Fukushima made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Fukushima made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Nigel Spikes (208-89, college: Marshall) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks and the other American import forward Donnavan Kirk (206-91, college: Miami, FL) who added 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Five Fukushima players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward Nicchaeus Doaks (201-87, college: Chattanooga) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Koji Nagata (180-81) scored 9 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fukushima moved-up to second place. Loser Iwate Big Bulls keep the sixth position with 13 games lost. Fukushima will face again Iwate Big Bulls (#6) at home in the next round.
