Regular Season Round 9: Sportiva Ita. - Univ.de Chile 67-65

The most exciting game of round 9 in the Liga Femenina took place in Valparaiso. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-best Univ.de Chile (7-2) to leader Sportiva Ita. (8-0) 67-65 in the game for the first place. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Univ.de Chile. They outrebounded Univ.de Chile 49-27 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Narlyn Mosquera stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and the former international guard Javiera Morales (178-92) chipped in 21 points and 9 rebounds. Sportiva Ita.'s coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Francisca Salvatierra (173-94) with 15 points and 6 rebounds and the former international center Catalina Lopez (184-84) scored 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Sportiva Ita. have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-0 record. Univ.de Chile at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. Sportiva Ita. are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Univ.de Los Lagos (#8) in Castro in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Univ.de Chile's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santiago to the arena Boston College.
