Very important is a road loss of second ranked Sanen Neophoenix (9-6) against fourth ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (9-6) on Saturday night. Visiting Sanen Neophoenix was defeated by Hitachi Sunrockers in Tokyo 80-62. The game without a history. Hitachi Sunrockers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Hitachi Sunrockers outrebounded Sanen Neophoenix 42-21 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Canadian center Chad Posthumus (211-91, college: Morehead St.) who scored 18 points and 9 rebounds. The former international guard Kenta Hirose (193-85) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Hitachi Sunrockers players scored in double figures. Hitachi Sunrockers' coach BT Toews used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Robert Dozier (206-85, college: Memphis) who recorded 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and point guard Tatsuya Suzuki (169-91) added 8 points and 7 assists respectively. Hitachi Sunrockers have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Nagoya DD and Sanen. Hitachi Sunrockers will again meet at home Sanen Neophoenix (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sanen Neophoenix will have a break next round.
