The game in Alcazar was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Cambados (5-4) played at the court of eighth ranked Alcazar (5-4). Alcazar managed to secure a 8-point victory 94-86 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Alcazar looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American-Haitian guard Nick LaGuerre (190-93, college: St.Mary's, MD, agency: Duran International) nailed 23 points and 5 assists for the winning side and American guard Lamonte Thomas (187-90, college: J.and Wales, RI) accounted for 16 points and 7 assists. Five Alcazar players scored in double figures. British Matthew Don (201-93, college: Cameron) came up with 19 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Erik Quintela (184-91) added 12 points and 7 assists respectively for Cambados in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alcazar moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Cambados. Cambados lost third consecutive game. Alcazar will meet Agustinos-Leclerc (#11) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Cambados will play against Gandia (#13) and hope to secure a win.
