Regular Season Round 11: Znicz Basket - Legia W-wa 59-79

Everything went according to plan in Pruszkow where fifth ranked Legia W-wa (7-4) outleveled 13th ranked Znicz Basket (3-8) 79-59 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Legia W-wa. Znicz Basket was better in fourth quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Legia W-wa looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was power forward Marcel Wilczek (204-86, agency: Promotex) who scored 15 points. Piotr Robak (194-91) chipped in 15 points. Four Legia W-wa players scored in double figures. Legia W-wa's coach Piotr Bakun used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Damian Cechniak (208-93) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and guard Adrian Kordalski (185-95) added 9 points and 8 assists respectively for the hosts. Legia W-wa maintains fifth place with 7-4 record, which they share with Polonia Leszno. Znicz Basket at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with eight games lost. Legia W-wa will face higher ranked GTK Gliwice (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Znicz Basket will play against Notec Inowr. (#8) in Inowroclaw and hope to win that game.
