Regular Season Round 15: Osaka Evessa - Shiga L-Stars 68-79

The game between third ranked Osaka Evessa (8-8) and sixth ranked Shiga L-Stars (3-13) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Osaka Evessa was defeated by Shiga L-Stars in Osaka 79-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Osaka Evessa. The game was mostly controlled by Shiga L-Stars. Osaka Evessa managed to win fourth quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for Zimbabwean-American Julian Mavunga (203-90, college: Miami, OH, agency: Pensack Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Narito Namizato (172-89) helped adding 9 points and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) with 17 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St.) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Four Osaka Evessa players scored in double figures. Osaka Evessa's coach Dai Oketani rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Shiga L-Stars maintains sixth place with 3-13 record. Osaka Evessa at the other side dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
