The game in Mexicali was also quite interesting. 6th ranked Barreteros (5-6) played at the court of seventh ranked Soles (5-6). Soles did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 95-76 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Barreteros. The game without a history. Soles led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Barreteros' 34. The best player for the winners was American power forward Justin Keenan (202-88, college: Ferris St.) who scored 27 points and 8 rebounds. The former international Roman Martinez (201-88, college: N.Mexico) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. American point guard Glenn Stokes (170-76, college: American) produced 21 points and American center James Williams (204-79, college: Brown Mackie) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Barreteros players scored in double figures. Soles moved-up to sixth place, which they share with defeated Barreteros. Soles will meet higher ranked Garzas (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Barreteros will play against Santos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
