Regular Season Round 7: Ferrara - Vicenza 50-52

Important game to mention about took place in Ferrara. Fourth ranked Vicenza (5-1) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked Ferrara (3-3) 52-50 on Saturday evening. It looked good early as Ferrara took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Vicenza had a 14-12 second period charge getting the lead and Ferrara was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 50-52. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Maria Giulia Pegoraro (174-89) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 6 rebounds. Slovenian forward Tina Jakovina (183-92) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Rosa Cupido (173-92) answered with 20 points (made all of her seven free throws) and forward Nene Diene (180-92) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Ferrara. Vicenza moved-up to third place in A2. Ferrara at the other side keeps the fifth position with three games lost. Vicenza will play against Fanola SML (#7) in San Martino di L in the next round. Ferrara will play on the road against Castellammare in Stabia and hopes to get back on the winning track.
