Regular Season Round 7: AZS Koszalin - Anwil 45-93

Date: November 20, 2016
Very expected game when 14th ranked AZS Koszalin (2-5) was crushed at home by eighth ranked Anwil (5-3) 93-45 on Sunday. The game without a history. Anwil led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to AZS Koszalin's 30. They outrebounded AZS Koszalin 36-21 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Toney McCray (196-89, college: Nebraska, agency: Alti Sport) who led his team to a victory scoring 12 points and 8 rebounds. The former international point guard Kamil Laczynski (183-89) helped adding 10 points and 6 assists. Four Anwil players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Darrell Harris (205-84, college: Rhode Island) responded with 2 points and 8 rebounds and Jakub Zalewski (184-86) scored 8 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Anwil. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser AZS Koszalin keeps the fourteenth position with five games lost. Anwil will face bottom-ranked TBV Start (#17) in Lublin in the next round which should be another easy win for them. AZS Koszalin will play at home against Stelmet and hope to win that game.
