Regular Season Round 9: Sant Nicolau - JAC Sants 74-92

Everything could happen in Sabadell at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked JAC Sants and 12th ranked Sant Nicolau had identical 2-5 record. But Sant Nicolau was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Barcelona 92-74 on Sunday night. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. JAC Sants forced 20 Sant Nicolau turnovers. Sant Nicolau was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was forward Oscar Gonzalez (200-97) who scored 17 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Alex Olive (-96) chipped in 21 points. Four JAC Sants players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Sergio Renom (188-95) who recorded 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and forward Marc Sobrepera (201-86) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. JAC Sants have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to tenth place in Group C-A. Loser Sant Nicolau keeps the twelfth position with six games lost. JAC Sants will face higher ranked Arenys (#7) in Arenys del Mar in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sant Nicolau will play on the road against Santfeliuenc (#9) in Sant Feliu and hope to win that game.
