Regular Season Round 16: Yokohama BC - Toyama Grouses 71-73 OT

Toyama Grouses (2-14) survived in overtime against Yokohama BC (6-10) by two points 73-71 on Sunday night. The game took place in Yokohama. But the guests from Toyama were better at the end. Yokohama BC was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 16-13 charge of Toyama Grouses, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 8-6. American center Earl Barron (211-81, college: Memphis) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. The other American import forward Sam Willard (205-88, college: Pacific, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Toyama Grouses' coach Bob Nash used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (210-90, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Toyama Grouses and four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. Toyama Grouses maintains sixth position with 2-14 record. Yokohama BC at the other side dropped to the fourth place with ten games lost. Toyama Grouses will face league's second-placed Sanen Neophoenix in Hamamatsu in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Yokohama BC will play on the road against Niigata Albirex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
